Alors que Petri avait conçu un véritable joyau avec le Petri Color 35, il faut bien se rendre à l'évidence que compétitivité oblige, le Petri Color 35E fait dans le classicisme avec il est vrai une touche d'originalité grâce à son objectif rétractable et son dos détachable, ce qui n'est pas courant sur ce type d'appareils.
